Dean & Dust’s C’est Nous Collection (It’s Us) celebrates the bond of you and your loved one(s). Your fingerprints are totally unique to you and have been since before you were born. No matter how much you change as you grow up, you’ll always have the set you have now. Those little ridges that form the design of your fingerprint are wholly and uniquely yours. Cherish the special person in your life with a sentimental heirloom that will last a lifetime and be treasured through the generations.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED (INCLUDED IN YOUR KIT)

• Sizing Guide Template
• Greaseproof Paper
• Jar of Wax
• Pre-paid Return Bag

You’ll also need: a hairdryer (not included)

SINGLE SIDED PENDANT 

Step 1: Preparation

• Wash and dry your hands and surface to avoid imperfections.
• Lay the greaseproof paper over the sizing guide.
• Decide which finger to use—using the centre of the fingerprint gives the most detail.

Step 2: Wax Prep

• Remove wax from the jar.
• Soften it with a hairdryer and roll into a smooth ball.
• Ensure there are no seams or cracks—reheat and roll if needed.

Step 3: Make Your Mark

• Place wax in the centre of your selected size circle.
• Press your finger evenly into the wax, reaching the edges of the template.
• Gently lift your finger and inspect the imprint.
• Don’t love it? Reheat and try again until you're happy.

Step 4: Final Steps

• Once hardened (about 10 minutes), trim the greaseproof paper to fit back into the jar.
• Carefully place the paper on top of the wax, then fold and insert any leftover paper to prevent movement.
• Close the lid and return the jar to us using the pre-paid bag.

 

DOUBLE SIDED PENDANT 

Step 1: Preparation

• Wash and dry your hands and surface to avoid imperfections.

• Decide which finger to use—using the centre of the fingerprint gives the most detail.

Step 2: Wax Prep

• Remove wax from the jar.
• Soften it with a hairdryer and roll into a smooth ball.
• Ensure there are no seams or cracks—reheat and roll if needed.

Step 3: Make Your Marks

• Gently press the wax between two fingers simultaneously.
• Remove carefully, avoiding the fingerprint area.
• Inspect both sides of the wax imprint. Not quite right? Reheat, roll, and try again.
  

Step 4: Final Steps

• Let wax harden for 10 minutes.
• Trim the greaseproof paper, insert it gently on top of the wax, and secure with offcuts.
• Return your jar to us using the pre-paid courier bag.

 

RETURN INSTRUCTIONS:

• If ordered online, use the enclosed pre-paid courier bag. If you purchased in-store, return the wax there.
• Place the wax back in the jar, into the original box.
• Seal the pre-paid bag and drop it at your nearest NZ POST location.

TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

• Clean hands and surfaces prevent flaws.
• Wax should be at least 1mm thick to avoid fragility.
• For babies under 2, thumbprints give the clearest result.
• If you’d like changes to your design, let us know when you return the wax—no changes can be made after that.

• Every C’est Nous pendant is a unique work of art, shaped by your hands and personal to your story.
• The shape will be organic, not a perfect circle.
• Fluff, crumbs, or residue on your hands will show in the final piece — clean hands give the best result.
• Fingerprint depth and clarity vary with each person and how much pressure is applied.
• White Gold Pendants are cast in natural (unplated) 9ct White Gold unless otherwise requested. This soft, creamy tone may differ from rhodium-plated chains or standard white gold jewellery. If you prefer a rhodium-plated finish, let us know — it can be added for an additional cost.
